At Ackerson Eyecare, contact lenses are never a one-size-fits-all solution. Our goal is to find lenses that provide the right balance of clear vision, all-day comfort, eye health, and affordability based on your specific needs and lifestyle.
Because we are an independent practice, we are not limited to a single manufacturer or corporate contract. We work with all major contact lens companies and have access to a wide range of lens technologies, allowing us to customize your fit instead of forcing you into a limited set of options.
Here is an overview of the contact lens services we provide:
Comprehensive Contact Lens Fittings
A successful contact lens fitting involves much more than simply matching a prescription number.
We carefully evaluate the shape of your eyes, the health of your cornea, your tear quality, your visual demands, and your comfort needs before selecting a lens to trial. Even lenses with the same prescription can fit and perform very differently depending on the material and design.
Our goal is to find a lens that:
- Helps you see clearly
- Feels comfortable throughout the day
- Maintains long-term eye health
- Fits your budget
Access to All Major Contact Lens Brands
We work with all major contact lens manufacturers, including Acuvue, Alcon, Bausch + Lomb, and CooperVision.
Because we are independent, we can move freely between brands and lens designs to find the best fit for your eyes. If one lens does not perform well, we are happy to explore other options until we find a better solution.
Try Before You Buy
We strongly believe in a try before you buy approach to contact lenses.
After their exam, patients are given trial lenses to wear for several days or weeks before making a final decision. This allows you to experience how the lenses actually perform during your normal daily routine instead of making a decision based on a brief in-office fitting.
If a lens is uncomfortable or does not meet your visual needs, we continue adjusting and testing until we find the best option for you.
Specialty Contact Lens Options
We fit a wide range of specialty lenses for patients with more advanced visual needs, including:
- Astigmatism contact lenses
- Multifocal and bifocal contact lenses
- Multifocal astigmatism contact lenses
- High prescription lenses
- Dry eye-friendly lens materials
- Specialty lenses for difficult fits
As contact lens technology continues to improve, many patients who previously struggled with contacts are now able to wear them comfortably and successfully.
Contact Lenses Designed for Utah’s Climate
Utah’s dry climate and higher elevation create unique challenges for contact lens wearers.
Many patients move here from more humid environments and suddenly find that their old contact lenses no longer feel comfortable. Certain lens materials simply perform better in dry climates because they retain moisture more effectively and allow more oxygen to reach the eye.
We carefully select lens materials that work well in Utah’s environment to improve comfort, reduce dryness, and maintain healthier eyes over time.
A Personalized Fitting Process
Finding the right contact lenses is often part science and part real-world testing.
Some patients succeed immediately in their first pair, while others require adjustments to find the right combination of comfort, vision, and affordability. Our fitting process is designed to be collaborative and personalized so we can fine-tune your lenses based on your actual experience wearing them.
The goal is simple: contact lenses that work comfortably and reliably in your everyday life.
